Our Mission

  • A Section 501(c)(4) nonprofit, the Sunshine Carbon Club Foundation (SCCF) is in the business of efficient, equitable, and economical climate solutions. Our mission is to facilitate the full implementation of the Paris Agreement, the Glasgow Climate Pact, and to accelerate their action to this end. We collaborate with major emitters, G20 members and other developing and emerging economies, to reduce carbon footprints and carbon intensity.

Powering to Net Zero

  • Recognizing the necessity of the transition to a 1.5°C pathway and climate neutrality at the latest by 2050, SCCF noted with concern that currently neither global climate ambition nor implementation are sufficient to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. We established SCCF to support the effective implementation of the Paris Agreement. Our focus is on the industry sector, helping it address risks of carbon leakage for emission intensive goods and products, while complying with international rules.
  • Carbon trading is a critical part of addressing this challenge. Entities that emit or benefit from heavy industry or use fossil fuels will receive climate capital for use in investment of low emission and green industries. SCCF will enable them to meet these challenges by fostering carbon offset trade opportunities.

Carbon Offset Market Size

  • 50 compliance trading jurisdictions
  • 2022: Compliance carbon offset markets value surged to USD 851 BILLION
  • Up 164% from 2020 on higher carbon prices and a modest surge in volumes
  • 2022: Voluntary market topped USD 1 BILLION
  • 2022: China operates world’s largest trading scheme

Why We Deserve Your Support

  • We deliver Paris Agreement Article 6 Internationally Traded Mitigation Outcomes (ITMO’s) to collection and avoidance projects that require climate currency to work.
  • We promote educational and scientific progress regarding climate protection, carbon offset, emission reductions, the formation of carbon club links, and Article 6 Agreements that promote ITMO exchanges.
  • We work with developers to structure climate interim project financing to deliver regional and global impact.
  • We support and raise awareness for ITMOs that comply with Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement.
